CHENNAI: C L Baid Metha College of Pharmacy organised a seminar on ‘Current Perspectives in Pharmcovigilance (science relating to detection, assessment and prevention of drug related problems) and Drug Safety’ on Saturday. The event saw 160 registered delegates from various parts of Tamil Nadu.
The seminar, which had four sessions, gave an insight into the role of clinical pharmacists along with a physician in identifying and reporting issues of adverse drug reactions due to many prescribed drugs.
The seminar dealt with the idea of how an effective pharmocovigilance centre can be set up in a hospital, besides the the job opportunities available for pharmacy students in pharm outsourcing.
